Annual All Saints
Memorial Service
plus a fellowship Supper
and Lecture
November 2nd, 2016 at 6:00pm

On Wednesday, November 2nd, our club will observe its annual
All Saints' Memorial Service followed by a fellowship meal in Cathedral House and a lecture by the Jon M. Sweeney.

First, we will gather for a 6:00pm service in St. Martin's Chapel, to remember all the saints of God, past, present and future, but especially those members of The Laymen's Club who have died in the past year and those other good and faithful souls who have served our Cathedral.

Then, around 7pm, we will adjourn to Cathedral House for dinner and a lecture, led by Jon Sweeney.

Jon will focus on the life and contributions of the late Phyllis Tickle.

  • Tickle was the author of over three dozen books in religion and spirituality, and as an authority on religion in America, is frequently quoted in print sources, electronic media, and innumerable blogs and web sites.

  • Jon Sweeney, himself an author of 25 books, is Tickle's authorized biographer and the book is to be published in the late fall of 2017. Jon is a popular speaker and has appeared on PBS television, a variety of radio programs, and has spoken at The National Cathedral.

(Note: Phyllis was booked to be our speaker last year before she was diagnosed with cancer which took her life last Fall).

This event ticket includes a dinner with wine in Cathedral House, followed by Jon Sweeney's presentation, ending around 9pm. The price for this event is $48, including dinner, drinks and lecture.

This event is also open to non-members
